July 27th 2011 has come and gone. It was the third anniversary of the horrific shooting at my church. For some reason, this year seemed more difficult for me as the calendar entered the month of July and the weeks and days advanced; during the past couple of weeks, my depression (which lifted on July 28th) hit, with a wham, bam, boom. It could have been exacerbated by the full (I hope it's full at this juncture) scope of injury fallout with which I'd been dealing. Anyway, my piano playing and hand drumming make all negatives disappear. Bless music and music-making, my life-line and most enduring passion!
This past Wednesday (the 27th) I went to a lovely noon-time special service at TVUUC. It was very inspiring and I could identify with the emotions and behaviors mentioned in the sermonette the church minister presented. A prayer offered by our pastoral minister was beautiful and comforting. I sat in the same seat I had occupied that morning of the shooting; I noticed other people were doing the same thing. I was fortunate to be accompanied at the service by a wonderful person who totally proved his friendship that day. Thank you, dear heart, for your patience, humor, and caring spirit.
